Bar Wah Izakaya

A little bit of Tokyo in Hobart, this funky fit out has a wide range of izakaya inspired dishes and a fully stocked bar specializing in sake, cocktails and beer. A very popular choice among both locals and tourists, be sure to book in for this one. 5 minutes in a cab or uber to arrive at the door in North Hobart.

Frank

Frank draws its inspiration from Argentina for dishes of grilled meats, seafood and vegetables all cooked traditional BBQ style with a modern twist. A great mix of casual yet classy atmosphere, with a share plate style menu of generous serving sizes. It's popular, so book ahead for a table, or try your luck for a smaller party to grab a spot along the window bench that looks over towards the waterfront. 5-minute walk from the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart.

Da Angelo

A family dining style Italian restaurant that’s been serving Hobart for 30 years. Enjoy authentic fresh cuisine including handmade pasta, pizza and tasty dishes from the southern regions of Italy. An 18-minute historic walk up through the sites of Salamanca to Battery Point or a 5-minute ride in a taxi or uber.

Tasman Restaurant

We couldn’t miss out including our own joint! As the name implies, our menu is designed around sourcing fresh Tasmanian produce, served in a relaxed, casual setting. Think tasty seafood, local free-range meats, seasonal vegetables, char-grilled steaks, cheese and a wide range of cool climate wines – but nothing too fancy. Open in the mornings for an impressive buffet breakfast spread and in the evenings for an al le cart menu, Tasman is often described as a “hidden gem.”

The Drunken Admiral

A Hobart icon for all things seafood on the waterfront, “The Admiral” is a family-owned themed restaurant operating since 1979. Dine amongst a truly unique and vibrant maritime atmosphere, just a 2-minute walk across the road from the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart.
