Launceston Distillery

Launceston Distillery is a respected Tasmanian whisky distillery with a portfolio of premium products.

Located in northern Tasmania at Launceston Airport’s historic Hangar 17, the distillery produces hand-crafted single malt whisky.

Our cellar door operates Monday – Saturday from 10am – 4pm for tours, tastings, and sales.

  • Guided tasting – 20min - $15 per person
  • Tour & Guided tasting – 60min - $20 per person

Built in 1932, Hangar 17 is the oldest surviving aviation building in Tasmania, but today it provides the perfect home for a boutique distillery. From grain to bottle everything happens under the one roof.

The whisky is produced in small batches using traditional techniques, locally made copper pot stills, the finest Tasmanian malted barley and pure South Esk river water.  This makes for an elegant style of whisky that is gentle, fruity, floral and enjoyable to drink.

Our whiskies are matured in a variety of oak casks (eg. bourbon, tawny and apera casks).  The standard range of products are bottled at 46% ABV. Limited edition releases are also available at natural cask strength.
